JAMES EATON, D.O., OSTEOPATHIC PHYSICIAN

Dr. Eaton is Board Certified in Family Practice.
He graduated from Kansas State College of Pittsburg in 1974 with a degree in medical technology and from Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery of Tulsa Oklahoma in 1981.
He completed rotating internship at Hillcrest Hospital, Oklahoma City, OK in 1982.
Eaton started his private practice in July 1982 in Baxter Springs, KS.
He joined NTHS in March 2018 after 36 years in private practice.

Dr. Tommy D. Foreman is Board Certified in Family Practice. He graduated with honors from Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in 1988.

Carol has been a Family Nurse Practitioner with NTHS since 2008.
She received her Associates degree in nursing from NEO in 1999.
Carol worked in critical care at Freeman hospital in Joplin Missouri, St Francis and St Johns in Tulsa and Medical Centers of Southeast Oklahoma in Durant.
Carol received a Bachelor of nursing from Southern Nazarene University in 2004.
She graduated with her Master's in Nursing from University of Oklahoma in 2007.
She has been certified by AANP since 2007.

Suzanne Mallatt, has been a Family Nurse Practitioner with Northeastern Tribal Health System since 2007.
She studied at Missouri Southern State University, and received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing in 1992.
She worked as a nurse for several years at both Freeman and St. John's Hospitals in Joplin, Missouri before returning for her Masters Degree.
She received her Masters of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Missouri, Kansas City in 2002.
She has been certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners since 2002.

Kara North is a proud Peoria Tribal member and Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
She has over 19 years of successful professional nursing experience with the past 10 years as an Advanced Practice Nurse focused primarily on pediatrics.
Kara obtained her nursing licensures from NEO A&M College in 1997 (ADN); Pittsburg State University in 2003 (BSN); and the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2006 (MSN).
Kara is certified by the Pediatric Certification Nursing Board.
During her early career as a Registered Nurse, she worked in the Newborn Nursery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and Pediatric Departments at Freeman Health System.
Kara is currently the Abuse & Neglect Committee Chair and was selected as the 2015 Tribal Merit Award recipient for implementing the Reach Out & Read program promoting early childhood literacy.

Kara graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma A & M as a Physical Therapy Assistant in 2000.
She continued her education, first, at Pittsburg State University where she graduated with her Bachelor of Biology in 2002.
She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with her Master of Physical Therapy in 2005.
Kara graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the Evidence in Motion Institute of Health Professions in 2013.
Kara joined the NTHS team in 2017.

April Wyatt is an Occupational Therapist who started with NTHS in 2022.
She studied at Missouri Southern State University and received her Bachelor's of Science in Health Promotion and Wellness in 2010.
She then graduated from the University of Oklahoma with her Master of Occupational Therapy in 2013.
April has since specialized in the upper extremity and became a Board-Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in 2019.
She is also a Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist and has a passion for treating individuals with Parkinson’s utilizing her LSVT-BIG and PWR! Certifications.

Dr. Cameron Scott currently serves as Chief Optometrist for the NTHS.
He came to NTHS from the Clinton Indian Clinic in 2008. Prior to spending 2 years at Clinton, Dr. Scott worked 3 years in a rural Kansas, private practice setting.

Dr. Rebecca Enloe joined NTHS Optometry in 2017.
She studied at Northeastern State University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 2002.
She graduated with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2007.
She joined the faculty at NSU Oklahoma College of Optometry.
She was the Clinic Chief of Optometry at the Cherokee Nation Sam Hider Center in Jay, OK and Director of the Cherokee Nation Rural Eye Program for 10 years.

Dr. Scotti Brett Freeman joined NTHS in the summer of 2023.
Studied at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and obtained an Associates of Science degree.
Graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Graduated from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry as a Doctor of Optometry.
Dr. Freeman has gained knowledge and experience through employment at Eye Associates of Miami, Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Center Clinics, and NSUOCO Campus Clinics.
He has attended many conferences to strengthen and further his knowledge, increase his experiences, and build invaluable relationships in his career field.

Graduated with a B.S. in Biology from the University of Alabama.
D.D.S. degree from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry (LSUSD) in 1994.
He continued his dental education by accepting an Officer Commission in the United States Air Force Dental Corps and received a Certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry.
Upon completion of his three years’ of military service, Dr. Shea joined his father in Private Dental Practice and accepted a part-time adjunct professor of operative dentistry at LSUSD.
Dr. Shea’s dental experience includes 20 years in private practice in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, the eight years part-time and two years full time teaching dentistry and his three years as an Air Force dentist.

Graduated from the Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery (now known as Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine) in 1980 and completed 2 years of residency before receiving her commission in the Public Health Service
Dr. Chesnut served as a medical office and medical director for the Indian Health Service in Jay and Miami for 12 years.
She worked at Grand Lake Mental Health for 17 years providing behavioral health services and medication management for patients in medically under-served rural areas.

Emory Mitchell is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oklahoma.
He obtained his Master of Art degree at Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. His training encompassed community counseling as well as marriage and family therapy.
He currently provides individual, family, and marital therapy for adults and adolescents.
Emory has been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is specialized treatment in overcoming trauma and trauma-related symptoms.
Emory believes in a holistic approach to wellness. He strives to encourage people to enhance their physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, and relational well-being.

Serves Native American children and families of all ages, including infant mental health.
Utilizes play therapy with children and adults with childhood trauma.
Infant Mental Health-Endorsed and a certified EMDR provider.
Serves as an IMECMH consultant, providing 4 hours a month of hands-on support/observation as well as provide professional development.
Member of NTHS Abuse and Neglect committee as well as the My Life/Man Up committee as the mental health board member.

Jennifer Barnes is a Licensed Clinic Social Worker with 29 years of experience.

Experience with individual, group, couples’ and family therapy; crisis response and intervention; depression screening; mentoring, training and education to families, community, co-workers, managers, individuals and outside agencies.

Presley Goff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

She has had 7 years of experience as a Licensed Master Social Worker working within urban and rural areas.
Currently provides individual and family therapy for both adults and children.
Member of Oklahoma Association for Play Therapy and currently in Play Therapy trainings to become registered.

MATTHEW H. ROBERTS, D.P.M., F.A.C.F.A.S.

Graduated from California College of Podiatric Medicine-Samuel Merritt University Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 1999.
Completed internship at the University of Texas at San Antonio and residency at the Alta Monrovia Hospital PSR 24 Surgical Reconstruction Foot & Ankle in Los Angles, CA.
Dr. Roberts owns his own practice and is contracted with NTHS to provide services to our Native population.
He also travels abroad on mission trips to conduct reconstructive surgery.
